How to use this generator

  1. Choose your preferred color notation: HEX, RGB or HSL.
  2. Select Generate to draw a new color and view its swatch.
  3. Copy the value into your drawing or design tool.

Examples

  • HEX format: #3A7BD5.
  • The same example color in RGB: rgb(58, 123, 213).
  • With rounded values, that example is hsl(215, 65%, 53%).

What the color formats mean

HEX writes red, green and blue channels as hexadecimal pairs. RGB shows the three channel values directly, from 0 to 255. HSL describes hue, saturation and lightness; this tool rounds the HSL output to whole numbers. The examples above show equivalent notations, not a saved result.

A starting point for a palette

Try using one result as an accent color, then choose supporting colors in your design software. Each Generate click samples a new RGB color, so changing format and generating does not convert the previous result. Random colors are not automatically suitable for readable text; check your foreground and background together.

Common questions

Does it generate a full palette?

It returns one color at a time. Copy the colors you want to keep into your own project.

Are HSL values sampled evenly?

No. The tool samples the RGB channels first and converts that color to HSL when selected.

No account is needed. Inputs and results stay in your browser; optional analytics counts usage without collecting them.
