How to use this generator
- Select Roll dice to roll a single virtual die.
- Read the dots and number when the animation finishes.
- Roll again for another turn. Use Animate rolls to control the animation.
Examples
- Move four spaces in a board game when the result is 4.
- Number six classroom prompts, then roll to choose one.
One die, six possible results
Each face has a 1-in-6 chance on every roll. The browser chooses the result using its cryptographic random source. The displayed die and numeral describe the same roll; the animation does not influence the outcome.
Using other number ranges
This roller currently supports one standard six-sided die, rather than multiple dice or a twenty-sided die. For a single result from another range, set the limits in Random Number. Repeated rolls may produce the same face.
Common questions
Does the roller avoid repeated numbers?
No. Rolls are independent. Rolling a six does not prevent another six on the next turn.
Can I roll without the animation?
Yes. Turn off Animate rolls. The numeric result remains available and can be copied.
No account is needed. Inputs and results stay in your browser; optional analytics counts usage without collecting them.
