What a botanical profile means here
The 1,055 profiles come from a diverse sample of NC Extension Plant Toolbox entries. They include species, cultivars and some genus-level horticultural profiles, rather than a claim of that many distinct wild species. Exact scientific-name duplicates were removed. Source common names remain in English instead of inventing Spanish equivalents.
Reading the growing notes
Plant type and light must both match. A profile can belong to more than one type. Soil and drainage tags describe conditions listed in the source, not a complete watering schedule. Local climate, cultivar, soil and site can change suitability. This is a discovery reference, not a plant-identification service.
No-repeat rounds with real limits
Each matching record is used before that selection starts another round. Subject rotation also spreads related plants or animals where the pool allows. Filters retain seen-record history during the visit, but narrow selections finish sooner. Reloading or opening another page starts a fresh session.
Common questions
Does a plant result mean it is edible?
No. This tool does not classify the whole plant as edible or safe for pets. Use properly identified food-grade ingredients for cooking.
Are these growing notes specific to Spain?
No. They come from the referenced U.S. extension profiles. Use local horticultural guidance for your climate and site.
